Yooper Stewart in 2012

I apologize for the long absence. I don’t know about you, but December was a crazy month for Yooper Stewart. Christmas parties every weekend. Long work days during the week. A high-maintenance wife at home. He was a busy man.

Even though he was super busy, something seemed off. The man worked 4,000 hours a week, helped out around the house, played with the cats, and still couldn’t fall asleep at night. Seriously – who works a 14 hour day, then lays awake for two hours? That just didn’t make sense to me. Lucky for YS, he married this high-maintenance lady. Long story short – he visited a naturopathic doctor and is now being treated for adrenal fatigue and hypoglycemia. If we can get those things under control, he might actually get some good rest and then have some energy!

Wow. I can’t even imagine what that will be like. I’m sure it will mean lots of Lego sorting and plenty of QT in the garage. I hope it will also include a bit of a social life. 2012 could be a good year for us.

I haven’t had a chance to really talk with YS about his goals for the new year yet, but I know there are a few things he’s planning:

1. A work schedule. Right now he goes in at 6:30 a.m. and comes home whenever the work is done. Coming soon at work – two shifts. A start time and an end time. Another big wow.

2. Discipline. I don’t know much beyond that. I just know that YS told me he feels like he needs to be more disciplined this year. I might have suggested that emptying the dishwasher in a timely manner would be a good place to start.

3. Irish & Indian influences. I told YS I’d like him to speak with an authentic Irish accent this year. He said he’d like me to do naked yoga around the house. This could get weird.

Happy New Year, folks!
